Are you getting a network disconnection prompt in gw disconnecting one of the logins? Are you able to reproduce this problem consistently?

There is no network code in GWML so its very unlikely. GWML does not modify Guild War's network code either. You mentioned GWx2 worked before, I would give that a try to see if it works consistently.

Network issues are often extremely difficult to diagnose, since it could be anywhere from spyware/firewall/router hardware/isp filtering.

If router is behaving badly with multiple connections, a bittorrent test should confirm it. From the info in your post, it sounds like the router is dieing on a packet it doesn't know how to handle. This could come from any number of sources.

I'm not gonna ask you to buy a new router but if you're in the market.
Here's an excellent b/g/N router for $35.

Sorry to see multiple copies not working.

Keep us updated!

I got something along the lines of "A network error caused you to disconnect". Sometimes I could re-connect, but more often than not, it would send me back to the login screen, and I had no internet until a router reset.

Too much trouble to keep trying, so I decided not to bother One acc is more than enough for now.

Edit: Also, Newegg doesn't ship to Europe.

INQUIRY:
Do I need to fresh install to from, say, C:\ to I:\, or can I just copy my .DAT and the launcher?

I figure I can't just copy it but.. hell, if it saves me the time downloading every texture again, might as well ask.

@BLOODGOAT:

GWML has a button that actually copies everything from an already installed GW to a new folder. No need to download everything again. You can also make the copy yourself (I think you need to not be running GW) and then just point GWML to the place where your second (or third) copy of GW is.

Alright well I'd tried that and whenever I tried to dual-boot GW it always restored the window that I had minimized.

64-bit system and YES I downloaded the 64-bit version of the client. I followed the readme and the causes it mentioned for this effect were definitely not met on my end (to my knowledge).

I've had that problem... Try starting both GW from within GWML and also in some systems (Vista probably) you need to run GWML as administrator or it will not work correctly.

I ONLY tried starting both from within GWML, in addition to running it both as admin, and not as admin.

Regardless, I just downloaded and tried GWx2 and it worked first time without hassle. I'll stick to that.

Your product is incridible, it's way easier designed than GWx2, seems to have less bug and you can open the copies with Texmod and more than 2 !

GWML doesn't modify any file.

The only change to installation is that it sets the gw registry path to the instance that is currently launching. Before uninstalling (deleting) gwml, I recommend using it to set the path to the main gw install you will be using.

I have been putting it off for a while wish me luck!

So, I copied my gw.exe file and blah blah and hit the launch button. The first copy of guild wars loaded up fine. 2 secs and I was at the login screen. However, as I type this the second copy of build wars is downloading updates. Is this because it is writing a new .dat file or did I do something wrong? Am I just stuck waiting out the download?

Just copy the gw.dat file from your primary Guild Wars directory to the copied directory. Abort the download; it will take longer than a file transfer. You should close all instances of GW before you copy, naturally.

GWML has an experimental feature to launch multiple clients using the same .dat file, but I have not tried it. You may consider it if space is an issue.

The feature for launching from a single dat is only good for swapping items between mules. It makes it so that only the last loaded copy has access to the dat for loading new art files. Simply swapping storage tabs after the second copy loads will result in minor graphical errors where the unloaded art should be. I haven't tried moving towns, but I'm sure it would be a disaster. But, it does work well for working inventory from a single character on one account to multiple characters on a second.

First thing... Thanks to IMKey and everyone else who helped with this app.

Second, I am either doing something wrong or misunderstand. (or both)

My pc is running Windows7 64 bit. Guild Wars is installed to "c:\Games\Guild Wars"
2 copies are located:
c:\games\gwars
c:\games\gwars2

I had GWx2, so downloaded the client again and updated it with the old gw.dat file. Things work again.

Then I used GWML (x64) to make 2 additional copies and created one shortcut for each. Those all work perfectly and I can get all three copies running at the same time by running each one. I have 4 different guild wars accounts that I am attempting to use.

I also created the master shortcut, but it only launches one gw's session at a time. So three double clicks on the master shortcut to get all three windows going. I've tried with "run as administrator" and without, no difference.

The two issues that I am experiencing:
1. I thought it would launch all three sessions with one double click?
2. Also, the windowed gw's sessions don't "remember" their location.

I don't think GWMulti parses the new -character command correctly. For example -character "first last" only seems to input "first". My guess is GWMulti looks to parse things via spaces which works for all other command line options, but you need to make an exception for the quotes used to enclose character names.

I think the problem is because the shortcut created by GWML already puts everything in quotes so the quotes from the -character command mess it up.

It is easily fixed by using the "remember username and charater" check box on the GW login screen and then just use -password with the GWML shortcuts.

Using this method I quickly got all 3 of my account auto-login shortcuts working again.

A problem comes when your dat file is being used with 2 different accounts. Then you have to log in manually, because the game will remember only a one character name.
